Printing and Art textiles
Artist and Teacher

Kate André
Gel-plate printing... mono-printing... silk-screen printing... thermofax printing... linocuts... stamping... stencils... block printing... procion dyeing... rust dyeing... transfer printing... freehand machine embroidery... quilts...
Before teaching printing and art textiles, Kate trained as a typographer and magazine designer.
As well as creating her own art textiles, Kate loves teaching and encouraging others to explore their own creativity.
Kate runs weekly classes and many taster sessions at shows around the country - where there is an opportunity to roll-up your sleeves and experiment with  those techniques you'll have heard of, but never tried out.
Once you've created some of your own fabrics to use in your quilts, or cards or journals, you'll see how much more liberating it is to be able to produce the perfect piece for your designs. These can then be used both independently - perhaps framed or maybe to commemorate a special event - or used to compliment other bought fabrics in a special quilt that no-one else will have.
Kate is qualified to teach adult education and is available for workshops, both at home in the Tewkesbury area, or will travel to a group event.
(Group size 6-8 is preferable.)
